Make your own Fabric Softener & Avoid Nasty, Harmful Toxins

Make your own Fabric Softener & Avoid Nasty, Harmful Toxins

Using fabric softeners each time you wash your sheets is a big no-no!.

Fabric softeners coat the fabrics fibres and reduce the fabrics air permeability, leaving behind a film that can start to feel heavy and slimy. Not to mention the harmful effects they can have on your family’s health.

Commercial in-wash fabric softeners and heat-activated dryer sheets can pack a powerful combination of chemicals that can harm your health, damage the environment and pollute the air, inside and outside your home.

Here’s why:

The Forecast is COLOUR!

The Forecast is COLOUR!

There is just something about colour that gives us the feels. Good, happy, vibing feels.
Be it a bunch of natures finest flowers, or a wall colour, or a vase, or a tshirt, it doesn't seem to matter what, but good colour will always make us smile.  And then there's the brave ones that take the extra step to inject colour fully into their homes, and you just can't believe how much it lifts a space. And you want to do it yourself, but you get nervous. Understandable I guess, but how much work is it really? Sleeping in Colour and Memories

Sleeping in Colour and Memories

How to Refresh your Mattress Naturally

How to Refresh your Mattress Naturally

Baking soda is one of the best defenses against stale and musty odours.

Pour 1 cup of baking soda into a jar, or plastic container with a lid.

Add 4 drops of essential oil – either lavender, eucalyptus or peppermint, cover the jar with the lid and then give it a really good shake to blend the essential oil in with the baking soda.

Next, find a strainer or sifter. If you can't find one, just sprinkle with your hands.

While standing next to your bed, pour a small amount of the baking soda mix into the strainer, then sprinkle it onto the mattress.

Repeat this until your whole mattress is covered.

Festive Season Thoughts

Festive Season Thoughts

It's November!

Oops.. here I am again, barely having thought about Christmas this year, even though I swore last year I would be super organised and prepared.

I feel as though I haven’t even placed the simplest, teeniest thought in my head as yet, so, sending you an email spurred me on to finding a festive pav recipe. Not because I particularly like pavlova, but because I am surrounded by people that do. Plus, they look astonishingly festive, with all those pretty red berries, soft playgrounds of creamy snow, and dramatic rivers of red syrup.

Use your imagination and add chocolate stars, or little festive edible ornaments, and you’ll really find some childlike happiness in the creative process :)
